History of CSIG
CSIG grew from a persistent gap in higher education: governance conversations too often overlooked how decisions affect campus communities, while efforts to address those impacts rarely included boards.

Raquel M. Rall, Ph.D.
University of California, Riverside
Raquel M. Rall, PhD (she/her), is an associate professor and associate dean of strategic initiatives in the School of Education at the University of California, Riverside. Her research centers postsecondary leadership and governance, with particular attention to how institutional decision-making shapes higher education for students, staff, and faculty. A national expert on decision-making and governance, she previously served as a UC Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow and assistant research professor at the University of Southern California.
Demetri L. Morgan, Ph.D.
University of Michigan
Demetri L. Morgan, PhD (he/him), is an associate professor of education at the University of Michigan’s Marsal Family School of Education and an affiliate faculty member in Organizational Studies. His research examines the role higher education institutions play in fostering a diverse democracy and how individuals navigate, resist, and transform institutional systems, policies, and cultures. His work focuses on student political engagement and activism, culturally sustaining governance, and sustainable organizational approaches to STEM education.
